The objective of our therapy visit is to provide comfort and pleasure to someone in need or to expose young children to a big dog. At age 8 months she earned the AKC Good Citizen award. Then at one year she was certified as a therapy dog by The Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs. I did this to condition her to loud noises, meeting strangers, and of course, getting that pet on the head. We worked hard for many months visiting Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart and Costco. Every day we worked together and every day she learned and excelled. Leisel was immediately exposed to young children, loud noises, people and different places. I began training her, always with love right from 8 weeks old. I did my due diligence and found my pup that was from German lineage and Sieger champions.

I am a retired Coast Guardsman who has had many German shepherds in my day. As a hobby I trained and worked search and rescue dogs as well as other therapy dogs. But when I retired, I wanted to give back to our community and a therapy dog was right up my alley, plus my wife told me to get a hobby.
